КУЛТОВАТА СТОУНЪР БАНДА UNIDA ЗА ПРЪВ ПЪТ В БЪЛГАРИЯ
Калифорнийците ще нажежат Rock Bar Download на 16 октомври!
Отдавна не сме имали инвазия от автентична стоунър група, част от семейството на великите Kyuss. Ето че можем да се поправим и да обявим концерта на американската дезърт рок фурия – UNIDA. Ще се съберем в пловдивския Rock Bar Download на 16 октомври където ще можем да куфеем с калифорнийските риф мастери. Съпорт ще са вече добре познатите ни румънски лоши момчета от Roadkillsoda. Билети има в продажба в сайта на Epay.go, като ърли бърдовете ще са по 25 лв., a редовна цена ще e 30 лв.
Unida съществуват от 1998 и една от главните причини за създаването им е именно разпадането на Kyuss (1995) и Slo Burn (1998), когато легендарният им певец John Garcia се събира с Arthur Seay (китара), Miguel Cancino (барабани) и Dave Dinsmore (бас) за нова хеви фъз рок бригада. Малко по-късно Dinsmore отива в бандата на Brant Bjork, където е и до днес и е заменен от Scott Reeder (ex-Kyuss, ex- The Obsessed, Fireball Ministry), който на свой ред е заменен от Eddie Plascencia. Paul Gray (ex-Slipknot) също свири с групата като басист по турнета. След серия от разпадания и събирания (2004; 2008 и 2012) UNIDA възкръсват отново за европейско турне през 2022. Въпреки, че John Garcia все още е част от Unida, поне за студийните им занимания, от 2022 година, зад микрофона е Mark Sunshine от Riotgod (където пък са намесени хора от Monster Magnet). На бас днес е Collyn McCoy от Ultra Electric Mega Galactic (групата на бившия и най-емблематичен китарист на Monster Magnet Ed Mundell).
Първото издание на UNIDA идва през 1999 – split албум с тежкотоварните стоунър валяци от Швеция – Dozer, а няколко месеца по-късно издават и дебютния си албум ‘Coping with the Urban Coyote‘, издаден от Man’s Ruin Records. Вторият албум така и не излиза официално на бял свят. Заради правни проблеми със звукозаписната компания – American Recordings, Unida така и не успяват да се преборят за правата над парчетата. Албумът съществува само на CD-та, които групата издава за концертите си през 2003 година. Носи неофициално няколко имена: ‘The Great Divide‘, ‘El Coyote‘ и ‘For the Working Man‘ и се приема като един от най-големите шедьоври на легендарната сцена от Палм Дезърт.

The californians will heat up Rock Bar Download on October 16th!
It’s been a long time since we’ve had an invasion from an authentic stoner band, part of the great Kyuss family. Here we can correct ourselves and announce the concert of the American desert rock fury – UNIDA. We will gather at Plovdiv’s Rock Bar Download on October 16, where we will be able to jam with the Californian riff masters. Support will be our already well-known Romanian bad boys from Roadkillsoda. Tickets are on sale on the Epay.go website, and the early birds will be BGN 25 each, and the regular price will be BGN 30.
Unida have existed since 1998 and one of the main reasons for their creation was precisely the breakup of Kyuss (1995) and Slo Burn (1998), when their legendary singer John Garcia reunited with Arthur Seay (guitar), Miguel Cancino (drums) and Dave Dinsmore (bass) for a new heavy fuzz rock brigade. A little later, Dinsmore went to Brant Bjork’s band, where he is to this day, and was replaced by Scott Reeder (ex-Kyuss, ex- The Obsessed, Fireball Ministry), who in turn was replaced by Eddie Plascencia. Paul Gray (ex-Slipknot) also plays with the band as a touring bassist. After a series of break-ups and reunions (2004; 2008 and 2012), UNIDA is resurrected for a European tour in 2022. Although John Garcia is still part of Unida, at least for their studio activities, as of 2022, behind the mic is Mark Sunshine of Riotgod (where people from Monster Magnet are involved). On bass today is Collyn McCoy from Ultra Electric Mega Galactic (former and most iconic Monster Magnet guitarist Ed Mundell’s band).
The first release of UNIDA came in 1999 – a split album with heavy duty stoner rollers from Sweden – Dozer, and a few months later they released their debut album ‘Coping with the Urban Coyote’, released by Man’s Ruin Records. The second album was never officially released. Due to legal problems with the recording company – American Recordings, Unida never managed to fight for the rights over the tracks. The album exists only on the CDs that the band released for their concerts in 2003. It unofficially goes by several names: ‘The Great Divide’, ‘El Coyote’ and ‘For the Working Man’ and is considered one of the greatest masterpieces of the legendary Palm Desert scene.
